The team taking part in the 4 Peaks Challenge on June 17th 2023. Three climbers (Chris, Joe, and Brian) and one driver (Sean). The aim was to climb the highest peak in each province of Ireland in under 30 hours. [Ed. Note: Total time back at the car took 24 hours 09mins!!]
Totalling just under 12,000 feet of hiking and over 900 km of driving, the adventures started with Carrauntoohil in Kerry, heading up to Mweelrea in Mayo, onto Slieve Donard in County Down, and then finally Lugnaquilla in Wicklow.
The team said; “This amazing charity provides invaluable support to people receiving treatment for leukaemia and those who need a stem cell transplant. Chris’ Dad Richie had a bone marrow transplant in December 2021 and BMLT were an incredible support with this arduous journey and were instrumental in facilitating Richie meeting his first grandchild while undergoing treatment.
